The kitchen benchtop, done right.
For most Mandurah homeowners the kitchen benchtop is the single most-used surface in the house and the first thing a buyer looks at. Whether you are renovating a 1980s Greenfields brick home, fitting out a new Lakelands or Madora Bay build, or modernising a holiday home in Dawesville, the benchtop sets the tone of the whole room. We fabricate and install the lot: straight runs, return benches, peninsulas and full islands with mitred waterfall ends.
What is included in a kitchen benchtop install.
- Digital template: laser-measured once cabinets are level, so the stone fits the actual room, not a drawing.
- Sink and cooktop cut-outs: undermount or top-mount, polished internally, cut to the real appliance.
- Edge profiles: square 20mm as standard, or a chunky mitred 40mm, waterfall end, or bevelled edge.
- Joins placed well: on a large island plus runs we plan any visible join to fall where it reads least.
- Install and seal: levelled, joined, sealed and silicone-finished to the splashback line.
Choosing the stone for a Mandurah kitchen.
Compliant engineered stone gives the widest colour range and the most marble-look options, and it is the most popular pick locally. Porcelain is the toughest and most UV-stable choice, which matters in the sun-filled open-plan kitchens of Halls Head and Dawesville that face the water. Natural granite and marble bring a one-of-a-kind slab. We walk through all of them at the free measure, with realistic costs from the pricing guide, and a deeper breakdown in the how to choose a benchtop guide.
The waterfall island.
A mitred waterfall end, where the stone turns 90 degrees and runs to the floor, is the standout upgrade on most Mandurah islands. It uses more slab and a precise 45-degree mitre join, so it adds roughly $600 to $1,200 per side, but on an island that the whole living area sees it is usually money well spent.
