Coastal light drives the material choice.

Halls Head homes, from the older streets near Halls Head Parade to the newer developments around Seascapes and Madora Bay, are built to capture the water views and the western light. That sun is glorious to live with and brutal on the wrong benchtop. For a kitchen that faces north or west toward the estuary, we steer homeowners toward porcelain (sintered stone), which is UV-stable and will not fade, or toward lighter engineered stone colours that handle the light better. Renovating the established homes.

A lot of Halls Head’s 1990s and early 2000s brick-and-tile homes are now hitting their first major kitchen renovation. The original laminate or early stone tops are tired, and owners are opening up walls to bring in the view. We work in alongside the cabinetmaker, template once the new carcasses are level, and install a single kitchen benchtop with a waterfall island that becomes the centrepiece of the new open-plan space.

We allow for lift access or a careful stair carry, plan any slab joins to suit the access, and book the install for a time that works with strata.
